Automatic Altitude Hold: Hover / Barometer Set Height Function, after using the left joystick (Accelerator) to control the ascending / descending flight of the aircraft. Free up the left joystick (Accelerator) and the aircraft will still hover at that height at which the joystick is freed. Built-in 6 axis gyro helps to hold the attitude and position of fuselage which making the video shooting and photograph more stability.
I have a few drones and I personally prefer the ones that have an "Altitude Hold" feature. Especially when you first get acclimated to flying a drone, I personally recommend an "Altitude Hold" model. With the Altitude Hold feature, the drone with simply stay in place (hover) when you take your fingers off the controls.
That's one of the great features about this Holy Stone HS110W FPV Drone with 720P HD Live Video Wifi Camera 2.4GHz 4CH 6-Axis Gyro RC Quadcopter with Altitude Hold, Gravity Sensor and Headless Mode Function RTF, Color Green drone has. One of the main reasons I prefer the altitude hold option on a drone is that it's a lot easier to shoot videos or take pictures.
The altitude hold option is also great if you're a beginner with drones. The feature makes it easier to learn and adjust to flying a drone.
Aside from the altitude hold, this drone packs a lot of punch. It comes with an easy to use remote control. To ensure you can maximize the flying time and not the learning curve time, I recommend spending sometime reviewing the instruction booklet to get accustomed to all the controls and aspects of the drone.
Another nice thing about this drone is that you can download an APP in which you can use for viewing what the drone is looking at on your smart device. The APP also allows you to take pictures and record videos as well.
If you haven't flown a drone before, it's important to have back up accessories for the drone in case you crash it. This drone comes with extra propellers in the event that you damage yours in flight (or a crash).
As for battery life, well, it's just like most drones I have, meaning I was able to get around 8 to 9 minutes of flying time with a full battery charge. If you're reading this and haven't had experience with drones (or drone batteries) and you're thinking that's not too much time, well, that's generally how long a drone battery last whether it's this companies or another.
One unique feature that was provided with this drone is that it came with a portable battery charger. If the battery dies, simply plug it into the charger to refill it.
Now talking more about batteries, if you plan on flying the drone an extensive amount of time at one shot, you may want to pick up additional batteries for the drone. This way you won't have to wait for the battery to charge between flights.
Also, the remote control does take 4 AA batteries to function. The 4 AA batteries are not provided with this drone and you'll need to pick them up on your own.
Overall, this is a very enjoyable drone to fly. It's not overly complicated to navigate and it has a bunch of cool features (even a flipping 360 degree feature).
One note, before I close my review is that it's a light weight drone. If it is windy out, it'll be a little more difficult to operate (not impossible though). In my opinion, for the best operating conditions, wait until the wind dies down to maximize the fun with flying the drone.

The different levels of sensitivity (control) is a big plus also. Low level for flying in the house and high level for outside.
This is really a nice quad. I'm sure you can find negatives on anything, but for the price and features I feel this would make any beginner a happy person. I gave it 4 stars because the battery only gives you about 5 minutes of flight time. I did buy a pack of 5 from amazon so I can fly longer, just remember to let the circuit board on the drone to cool down a little between flights.
OK, I started with 4 stars but after a few days with this quad I have to drop a couple stars. Reason is you can not take pictures or videos using the buttons on the controller. I emailed Holy Stone about the issue and their response was, "This is abby.
Please be kindly informed that the camera function could only be operated by App currently. In addition, currently we only recommend you to use remote control to control the direction of the drone because the APP still needs some revision. Because this version has WiFi function, so the fulfillment of the camera function is transferred to the App.
That's why you cannot operate it on the controller.
For standard'old version) model without WiFi function, you for sure can take pictures and shoot videos through controller.

This is my second drone. The first one was an impulse buy from a discount store for $49.99. Got it home, charged up the battery, took it in the back yard and after a few tries to get up and stable, it did it's own thing and flew right in to the pool. Well that was fun for about 5 minutes. It was enough time to give me the bug.
I did some research and reading reviews, I decided to try one again and went with this Holy Stone HS110. Great choice, I love the takeoff and land button. Very easy to get up in the air, and headless mode was great for me (a beginner) to maneuver the craft all over the back yard.
